On the subject of expanding influences and new sounds, the progression on skill and flavor, I thought it right to upload a recording of a recent DJ here in Portland. In the last year I've gained some more technical skills and have started to make a lot more of my own edits, remixes and beats, and this live set really showcases that. I'd say about 80% of this material I reworked or created. All mixed on turntables, no prerecorded mixes.

This complete fire storm of a carnival soca riddim conjures up some fierce hard wine imagery for me. Coming in at a sexy 118 bpm, the track catches some hot riddim realness but is still easily digestible to those not use to wiling out to these rhythm structures.

My friend Justin Gorman asked me to make an exclusive mix for his new design, arts and culture blog Paper Make Stack. He asked to kind roll with a theme, so I chose to look at the evolution of UK garage/2-step beat and rhythm patters. I took tracks from some of favorite producers from back in the day and meshed them with my favorites in the game right now. The result is a fluid mix that travels though 2-step, bassline, funky and future bass.
