ANYTHING

Anything (Lifepartner Wild Life edit) by lifepartner
I made a bassy and vaguely funky lil edit of a song my buddy Rizzla from Boston turned me on to by Soca's new lady Buffy. Expect it to drop later on in the night TOMORROW.

Kingdom Fabric mix

Homie Kingdom, just released another envelope-pushing, breath-taking mix; this time for the folks at Fabric to promote his performance at the upcoming Fool's Gold showcase. As usual, Ezra takes us on a fresh and innovative trip, looping and layering tracks (many of his own productions) to create sounds that have gone unexplored. This man is pushing things forward, and setting the bar high for other DJs.

THE FUTURE AS INSPIRATION

Here at the Wild Life HQ, we take the future seriously. Sure, it's something that a lot of geeky sci-fi nerds ramble on and on about (myself included), but in the realm of modern dance music, it's only thing that matters.
Am I confusing you yet? I'm talking future bass, speed garage, hyper dub... the shit that sounds like it was made on a god damn space ship.
There's a small and growing group of DJ's that are pushing this sound forward, one them would be London's Manara of blog/collective/party entity Night Slugs. I've really been feeling what she's been doing, along with her colleagues Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990, for a while now.
She recently released a new mini-mix for the very fine folks over at Discobelle. This mix is HUGE, and inspiring.

Manara - Miracles Mix
Paula Abdul – Cold Hearted (Dubstramental)
Roska- Gone to a Better Place
Aero Manyelo – My 8 Kids
Aaron Carl – Oasis (Nick Holder Vocal Dub)
DJ Gregory – Klappa
DJ Gazzeto – Cruel 22
Shaun-D – Spanish Fly (Kingdom remix)
Ikonika – Brown Acid remix
GIRL UNIT – I.R.L
Dj Deeon – Freak like Me (Brenmar mix)

DISAPPOINTED

This was one of my favorite songs of 2009. The 2010 video SUCKS.

The newest mini-mix!

It's just one week till Wild Life takes over. Here's the mix that takes a little trip back to where everything started, dancehall, before moving into the hard future shit.
Enjoy.

CRAZY COUSINS

2009 was a big year for Crazy Cousins.
In my opinion, they're producing the most interesting funky tracks to date (no offense Silva). I'm biased though, due to their knack for plucking out beautiful vocal tracks from some of the best up and coming female vocalists in the UK.
Expect to hear this track at the debut party, January 28th with our very special guest DJ Nolita in her last performance before shippin out to the gay bay.
